General Details

The hazardous area (Hazardous Area) is where flammable gases, liquids and other substances are stored, transported or handled. Safety is a fundamental requirement when heat tracing circuits work in hazardous areas.

For this reason, we have been implementing numerous projects and dangerous areas since 1992, ensuring that the facilities provide uninterrupted and safe service.

With our Ex-Proof approved and certified electrical heat monitoring (EHT) solutions and safe products in accordance with international and national standards: Oil and Gas production distribution facilities, Production facilities with sugar powder and wheat powders, Paint Production facilities, Cement factories, Waste disposal facilities We are proud of achieving Electrical Heat Tracing applications in dangerous areas with our strong and experienced staff.

THE REASONS WHY ELECTRICAL EXPLOSIONS HAPPEN IN RISKY AREAS

In environments where there is a risk of explosion, explosions may occur due to electric arc, heating of electrical equipment surfaces during operation and static electricity. If we examine these factors in more detail;

Electric arc and spark;

When the switches open and close

When electrostatically charged elements discharge

When the cables are damaged

reasons such as balancing current occurring at the moment of short circuit.

Hot Surface

The surfaces of electrical appliances become hot due to their operation and present a danger in environments with explosion risk.

Static

Since static electricity is not noticed, it can be unexpected and sometimes even fatal in accidents caused by it. For this reason, anti-static materials that are not electrified by friction are used in facilities and environments with explosion risk. With the changes made in various regulations and standards, electrical equipment to be used in explosive atmospheres has been made obligatory to be ex-proof (explosion proof). In the directive of the European Union known as ATEX, it is stated that the equipment used in environments with explosion risk should be ex-proof. Ex-proof featured tools can prevent explosion since they do not leak any spark during operation. Because in order for an explosion to occur, there must be an open fire or a source of spark. Thanks to the equipment with ex-proof feature, the risk of explosion in the environment has been significantly prevented. Naturally, it is insufficient to use only ex-proof equipment to prevent explosions caused by electrical appliances in explosive environments. The following should be done to prevent electrical explosions in environments with a risk of explosion:

If possible, electrical equipment and installations should be installed in places where there is no or least explosive gas.

Electrical installations and equipment to be installed in dangerous places must be suitable for the environment, ie ex-proof, and have legally required certificates and technical features.

Electric cables should be seamless and in one piece as much as possible. Thus, sparks and arcs occurring at the connection points are prevented.

The hazard class and the qualities of the electrical devices to be used should be selected in accordance with each other.

Connections and compatibility of electrical devices in dangerous areas should be examined.

Arc-proof types of electrical devices should be used.
